What to expect

A relaxed Friday night that’s yours.

Cook & Chill is open to young people aged 12–16 who are growing up in kinship care or care. Sessions provide a safe place to build practical skills, try new things and spend time with other young people who may share similar experiences.

You do not need any cooking experience. Activities change from session to session and there is no pressure to take part in everything.

A typical session might include

  • Preparing a meal together
  • Sports or team challenges
  • Arts and creative activities
  • Eating and catching up

Common questions

Before you come along.

Do I need to be good at cooking?

No. The team will explain each activity and you can take part at your own pace.

Can someone contact you for me?

Yes. A carer, family member or professional can make the first contact, and we will agree the next step with you.

What should I bring?

We provide the cooking equipment and ingredients. Tell us about allergies, access needs or anything that would help you feel comfortable.
